UPDATES: 737 MAX 8 CRASHES 2 MONTHS AFTER LION AIR BOUGHT IT.

A 737Max8 has crashed in Jakarta with an electrical fault that 'Boeing will help them with'


UPDATE: It's believed the altitude instruments were different for both the first officer and the captain and since the plane hasn't been in service very long it's incredibly worrying. Lion Air were proud to be the first Indonesian airline to operate the latest aircraft from Boeing, However just 2 months after delivery the aircraft crashed. But why?


A Lion Air 737 has crashed just after take off in Indonesia.


Lion Air flight JT-610 took off from Jakarta and was bound for Pangkal Pinang, Sources suggest there was 188 people on board the aircraft at the time of the crash and the pilot had requested a return to Jakarta but seconds later ATC lost contact with the plane at around 06:33am (Local Time).


The aircraft crashed just 13 minutes after take off and the Indonesian Disaster relief teams have found debris and oil floating in the sea north of the capital, Its believed at this time there are no survivors. On board is believed to be 178 Adults, 1 Child and 1 Baby. Sources are suggesting there was 20 members of staff from the Indonesian Ministry of Finance too.


The Boeing 737 MAX 8 crashed in the java sea after reaching around 3,650 feet after Lion Air had only had this verity of aircraft for around 2 months - The MAX 8 only went in to production around a year ago. This is the first incident involving the widely sold MAX 8 but not the first incident in this area.


Reports suggest there has been more than 40 Air Accidents since 2001 that have resulted in deaths. South East Asia is known for bigger / high profile incidents such as the disappearance of MH370.
