The week commencing the 12th of November has been filled with incidents. Let's start with the news on the 13th that the SKYLEASE 747 which left the runway the previous week had begun to be dismantled by experts.

Crews had start to cut parts of the wings to make it easier to transport. Plus the navigation equipment at the end if the runway has being repaired.

Leaving the runway has been a common theme the past week, a BAE Jetstream 32 was involved in a similar incident when it left the runway after landing on runway 18 at Bahia Solano. The Aircraft involved (HK-4394) had flown from Medellin but PAL airlines passengers had a scarier ordeal.

Flight PB1922 operated by a DHC-8-300 was bound for Deer lake from Wabush. However the flight was diverted to Stephenville, Newfoundland Canada. The divert was due to the fact that the nose gear failed to extend during final approach. The Crew made a successful landing even though the weather wasn't on the crews side but all 51 on board were safe and not hurt.

You've heard of clipping a bird's wings well Southwest Airlines had a go on a bigger scale. Flight WN2095 from Kansas clipped the winglet of a WOW air Airbus A321neo. The Southwest aircraft taxiing to the terminal when the pilot made the expensive mistake.

Staying with America we head to Denver International. United Flight UA1941 from Tuscan landed on runway 35L. However the aircraft veered off the taxiway leaving the 737-800 (N87507) partially submerged in snow. Passengers were bussed to the terminal. All 85 passengers and 6 crew were safe and no injuries were reported.

Emotional news last week saw the retirement of one of the oldest flying 747-100s . N747GE had operated for General Electric for a number of years as a engine testbed. Before that it had flown for the widely missed PanAm. The Aircraft has a happy ending and was flown to the Pima Air and space Museum to be displayed. Great ending.

In other news the first A321LR was delivered to Arkia.

In Defence news the MOD has upped the orders of the F-35. It's believed the government has signed a multi million pound deal which sees to UK receive 17 more F-35s. Meaning the UK will own 35 of the latest jet by the end of 2022. This news came just a few weeks after Belgium made the choice to order the F-35s to replace there ageing fleet.

In Airshow news. Saturday super Earlybird tickets for the Royal International Air Tattoo have sold out. That's right!!!! Panic not, you can still get Earlybird tickets for Friday and Saturday. It's the countdown to RIAT19 already.
