Glasgow Airport made a rather large announcement yesterday. Scottish spotters seemed shocked although rumours had been speculating. The Airport announced a aircraft change. Yep, the rumours were right. Emirates will operate the A380 on the Glasgow to Dubai route.

The Airbus built aircraft will operate to the Scottish airport from Tuesday 16th April 2019 until October 2019. The airport has undergone some redevelopments ahead of the arrival of the Emirates flagship. Including new air bridges to accommodate the large bird. Many spotters have also noticed the Airport fire service have began practicing on a new dummy aircraft. As well as the Fire crews have began using new Fire Trucks.

The A380 will operate a existing route currently operated by a Boeing 777. It will be the first service to be operated by a A380 in Scotland. This is a huge achievement for the airport. Plus I'm sure a lot of Spotters will be counting down to April for this beast.

Emirates set to be the first to operate the A380 rthe middle east but how many more Gulf carriers will announce equipment changes now.
